Malaga Christmas Lights 2019

The exciting festivities of Christmas are truly in full swing in the Malaga capital as the famous Calle Larios light display installation has begun ahead of the big switch on at the end of the month. The theme this year has been coined as ´El Bosque de Navidad´ (The Christmas Forest) and no expense has been spared with a whopping €532.830 spent on this visual extravaganza. Iluminaciones Ximénez, the internationally renowned artistic illumination company, will host a street party including a distribution of 10,000 light beams to the city´s spectators. This first light and sound show will be followed by a crowd-pleasing concert in the Plaza de la Constitución.

The display will be featured for a length of fourty days from the 29th November to the 5th January and will be accompanied by a fitting array of musical sensations including Mariah Carey´s famous Christmas hit ´All I Want For Christmas´, Hillary Duff´s ´Jingle Bell Rock´, ´En Navidad´ by Javian Bustamante and the Academy OT ft Rosana and finally ´Never Back Down´ recorded by the Sofia Session Orchestra and Choir.

You can see the light shows at various times such as 18.30, 20.00 and 21.30 but expect to be surrounded by large crowds of people as 2018 recorded a daily visiting number of 82,000 and this year is believed to be an even bigger attraction.

However, it wont just be Calle Larios that gives you the ´Christmas feels´, nearly two million bulbs will decorate the rest of Malaga including Calle Granada, Calle San Juan (a new addition this year) and Calle Cárcer. Plaza de la Constitución will feature an exciting new concept with the installation of a Christmas tree that you can also appreciate from the inside. Plaza del Obispo´s tree is a magical sight enhanced by the incredible cathedral backdrop. Not to mention the stunning Paseo del Parque adorned with thousands of fairy lights and where you can find Malaga´s most famous Christmas market. All in all, the perfect place to get you in the magical Christmas mood.
